Pun Buddha vs Butter : Did Buddha bathe himself in butter and is that why he is called that? In some Buddhist countries, butter is used as an offering to Buddha. The waist circumference has to come from somewhere. Hence the chicken-egg problem: Did butter exist before the Buddha? Buddha or Butt(er/a)?
